My Spanish 1 students LOVED Faena. We started playing it one of my most reserved classes and within a day all of them were speaking! The best part was seeing them collaborate and help each either use the correct phrases and overcome challenges. All the students reported feeling more confident and motivated after a week of playing Faena. The team at Faena was super helpful getting the game set up and making the students feel like pioneers in video game design.

I like Faena, especially the voices and characters. The level of Spanish is perfect for me…my middle schoolers will eat it up

Testimonials

Ok, I have to say, never thought of learning Spanish, although I have friends from Latam, but this game makes me want to learn and speak it. It’s very fun, I believe this is the future of language learning!
— Daniel XD Madin (gamer)
I had an absolute blast playing this and can genuinely say that I would play a full game of this to learn Spanish…and that’s not something I say lightly. I am blown away and excited to see more of Faena. WELL DONE
— Nick Barba (language learner)
The game was very engaging. I felt very immersed, like I was an actual character in the universe of the game. The speaking aspect of the game was what I liked the most. The game encouraged me to practice speaking Spanish, and helped me to develop phrases that I can use in normal everyday conversation. I think a lot of people who want to improve their Spanish and become more comfortable speaking it should consider playing the game, as it’s more than just a game, it is a platform for learning.
— Calvin Waller (Towson University Spanish student)
My son used the Faena demo to improve his Spanish skills. The game helped him practice his speaking and listening to better understand how to pronounce words correctly. He did this to supplement what he’s been learning in his Spanish books. The format helped him feel more confident when speaking and improve his ability to communicate in Spanish!

Very fun! It’s the first 3D videogame I’ve played the was educational!

Having a conversation with a video game character is a cool concept, even removed from the language learning aspect. I also liked that learning Spanish is part of my character’s (or my own) character development. Just as one gets better at a video game the more they play it, language learning is a cool element to apply that too. Loved playing a demo for a game. I feel really grateful to be a part of this experience, so thank you!

It was really fun!! I loved that there might be a horror aspect to it. Also, it was much more entertaining than most spanish work we do in class
